The Mark Hearn Award is a newly established award that aims to help youngsters with promising abilities and outstanding endeavour pursue their goals in tennis.
The Award will be presented every November for the next 15 years, thanks to the fundraising and efforts by Mark Hearn. You may remember the 24 hour tennis marathon at the club which raised over £60,000 for the Parkinson's charity!
Mark is a club member who is passionate about tennis and helping the younger generations. Sadly he developed the condition known as MSA.
The Award aims to create opportunities for those who might not necessarily have the means to pursue their goals in tennis. Two gifted children (one boy and one girl) will receive two years' free membership to the club as well as free weekly group coaching sessions with James Smith.
The inaugural presentation of the award and trophy to the winners by some special guests will take place on Saturday 13th November at 12.15pm in the Clubhouse.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there to celebrate the first year of the Mark Hearn Award.
