The week long Morrisons Solicitors Reigate Open Tournament at Reigate Lawn Tennis Club
in Manor Road, ended with a packed day of tennis on Finals Day last Saturday. The week
had seen its share of rain but the sun shone all day as final winners were decided.

James Smith, the Clubs’ Head Coach, won the Open Men’s Singles after a tussle with top seed Adam Skalsky, winning 7-6(4),6-3. The match was one of powerful serving and shot making and although Adam was struggling with a knee injury, the game was full of skill from both sides of the net.

In the Open Women’s Singles, Emily Gibbens was the winner in straight sets, with attractive hitting and clever angles. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Morrisons Solicitors both Open Singles winners received cheques for £250.00.

18 and under Boys Doubles: Zino Arbane and Jake Southwick defeated Alfie Heiberg and Leonard Macejin 6-3 6-4
18 and Under Mixed Doubles: Jake and Gemma Soutwick defeated Alfie Heiberg and Sarh Jackson 6-3 6-4

Consolation event, which was won by Peter Moore 4-6 6-4 6-0
