Reigate LTC Tennis Coaching Team

Reigate LTC has a full coaching team headed up by James Smith. James is a former Open British National Doubles Champion and is currently GB over 45’s Team (former captain) and British No1, World No 6. He was coach to 3 British No 1 juniors, 3 National Champions, 18 British Top 20 players, 3 Deaf National Champions and over 45 Surrey County juniors and was a former Surrey Junior lead coach and County Captain. He is an ⁠LTA L4 Senior Club Coach and former LTA Coach tutor.

Coaching Ethos
Tennis is a sport for everyone - from the beginner, enthusiastic amateur to the professional. Our coaching can give the complete beginner the skills of a sport that can be use throughout their lifetime. It can also help the up and coming stars of the future focus on parts of their game that need improving.

Coaches
All our coaches have Development Coach Award (DCA) qualifications and many years’ experience. We run regular group coaching sessions (click on the document below) as well as private lessons.

Padel Coaching
We do not have an officially appointed padel coach but have organised ad hoc session since we opened our courts last summer. GB team player, Lisa Phillips, has been visiting the club on a regular basis to provide coaching to develop our padel members' shot techniques and tactics.
